Guru Purnima at the SRIM Center!

Saturday, July 4th, 2020

Join us on Guru Purnima, July 4th, for a day of celebration of our great good fortune of having Amma Sri Karunamayi’s and Shirdi Sai Baba’s Divine Presence in our lives! Guru Purnima is the most perfect full moon of the year that is reserved to honor the Guru.  It is a beautiful opportunity to contemplate the Guru and the Guru’s teachings.

“And so, on the occasion of Guru Purnima  in India, everyone salutes his or her Guru  and offers the eight inner flowers at their lotus feet. . . The first and foremost of these is “ahimsa”. By ahimsa  is meant, not only that one must refrain from hurting others physically, but also that one must not cause harm to others by way of speech or words. The Guru, then, leads a person who has taken so many, many births and suffered so many, many times, to such a high state by showing him this spiritual path and divine destination.  And, therefore, the disciples are indebted to such Gurus  for their service and can never repay it.”
