Sunday, August 25, 6:00 PM

Join us in celebrating Lord Krishna’s birthday with abhishekam, ritual bathing. Lord Krishna has delighted spiritual aspirants for hundreds of years with his enchanting nature as a child stealing butter and the hearts of the gopis, the local milk maids who embodied pure devotion. An incarnation of Vishnu, Lord Krishna took birth in the auspicious month of Shravana Masam to uphold righteousness on earth. Abhishekam will be followed by devotees swinging statues of Krishna and Radha on a beautifully decorated swing (jula) and gently swaying it. The swinging motion symbolizes the playful and loving interactions between Krishna and Radha.
