Sri Rudram is the most pristine portion of all the 4 vedas in praise of Lord Shiva and contains the panchakshari mahamantra “Om Namah Shivaya”. Chamakam is a boon seeking vedic chant, that is recited after Sri Rudram. All great yagnas like MahaRudram and AtiRudram require excellent knowledge of these 2 chants. Vayu Purana states that anyone who recites daily Sri Rudram, Chamakam and Purusha Suktam, will be blessed with Brahmaloka. The recitation of Sri Rudram blesses the chanter with the greatest of material, health and spiritual benefits.
