Kartheeka Masam
Kartheeka Masam is the 8th month in the Indian calendar and begins on November 5 of the Gregorian calendar in 2021. It is an auspicious time for the worship of both Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu and a powerful month to perform sadhana, spiritual practices. Kanth Garu will perform Rudrabhishekam, the ritual bathing of the Shiva Lingam, every day in Kartheeka Masam as it is one of the most significant and popular ceremonies to please Lord Shiva.
Rudrabhishekam and Baba Abhishekam
Mondays & Thursdays, November 1, 4, 5-21, 23-28, 30 at 6:30 PM
Rudrabhishekam is the ritual bathing of the Shiva Lingam and it is one of the most significant and popular ceremonies to please Lord Shiva. Performing this puja bestows one with health, wealth and happiness and offers protection against enemies, negativity, and evil.
Kanth Garu will perform Rudrabhishekam to the Shiva Lingam on Mondays and daily during Kartheeka masam (starting Nov 5) and to both the Shiva Lingam and the Utsava (small) murti of Shirdi Sai Baba on Thursday evenings.

Dhanteras Trayodashi
Dhanvanthari Pooja, Tuesday, November 2 at 6:00 PM
On this birth anniversary of Lord Dhanvantari, the Father of Ayurveda, is said to have emerged from the churning of the ocean of milk carrying a jar of elixir. This day is also known as the first day of the festival of Diwali, the celebration of lights over darkness. The benefits of performing Dhanavantari pooja are good health, prosperity, happiness and strength.

Diwali / Deepavali
Lakshmi Pooja, Thursday, November 4 at 6:00 PM
Diwali is one of India’s most important festivals of the year and it brings prayer, feasts, fireworks and, for some, a new year. It is a celebration of the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil. On this day, diyas, candles, lamps and decorations are placed all around the house, to ‘light’ the way to knowledge and victory. Kanth Garu will perform a Lakshmi pooja on Diwali.

Sri Rudra Homam

The science of Vedic rituals states that homams help us connect to fire, which is one of the five elements of nature and that smoke from the fire is very healing. Rudra Homam is a powerful fire ritual that aims to purify a person’s inner spiritual system by invoking the grace of Sri Rudra, one of the many forms of Shiva.

Kartheeka Masam Purnima & Lunar Eclipse

The full moon day, purnima, is auspicious for doing puja to Sri Lalita Maha Tripurasundari Devi. Kanth Garu will perform abhishekam to the Sri Chakra at 10:00 AM to honor Devi, who bestows blessings for physical and emotional health, wealth, harmony in relationships, and true spiritual progress. The evening portion of our regularly-offered Purnima program will be completed in the morning. Due to a lunar eclipse, which will be visible in Atlanta from 01:02 AM to 07:03 AM on November 19th, the temple will close at 6:30 PM on November 18th.
The components of the evening program that will be completed in the morning include: Archana to Sri Chakra with Lalita Sahasranama namavali, Sri Lalita Trishati namavali, and Sri Devi Khadgamala followed by Sri Mahishasura Mardhini arati. Sponsorship: $27
