Sri Sai Baba Abhishekam : Thursdays: November 5, 12, 19, 26 @ 6.30 PM
Rudrabhishek invokes Lord Shiva by chanting hymns and offering special Pooja, where devotees worship Lord Rudra in the form of a lingam. Amma Sri Karunamayi extols the power of Rudrabhishekam and encourages devotees to include it in their sadhana, spiritual practices.
Lord Shiva is well known by the name Rudra. It is one of the 108 names of Lord Shiva, meaning “tempest”. In Rudra form, Lord Shiva is fierce and is the destroyer. He destroys evil and paves the path for new creation. Abhishek literally means “wetting” or “spraying”. It signifies the auspicious bathing of a deity. Rudra Abhishek is a holy bath with water, milk, ghee, yogurt, honey, and Panchamrit (the Panchamrit mixture comprises five elements: milk, yogurt, ghee, honey, and jaggery).
