It is with immense pleasure I am writing this to announce the release of 'Soundaryalahari' CD - a musical rendition of Adi Sankara's lyrics in praise of the Divine Mother.  Just to give an extremely brief outline, Adi Sankara's Soundaryalahari is an outstanding composition of hymns on Devi Parasakthi. The first part of 41 verses called `Aanandalahari' is regarded a `Mantra Sastra' describing the gross and subtle form of Devi and mode of worship of the Divine Mother. The remaining 59 verses contain an exquisite portrayal of the physical form of Devi from head to foot ending with a prayer for Her grace.

It is with blessings from the Divine Mother that I was able to complete putting together these verses in musical form, sung in 100 different ragas, with veena accompaniment by Smt. Priya Chandrasekaran, a versatile veena player, teacher and artist affiliate at Emory University.

I have also dedicated this project as part of my efforts to raise funds for the construction of SRIM Meditation Center (Sri Karunamayi Research Institute of Meditation) - an Ashram for Sri. Sri. Karunamayi very affectionately known as AMMA, who has been visiting Atlanta for a few years now, who also, in my heart, is sakshath Ambal and Goddess Saraswathi.  The ashram is currently under construction near the Macon area.  Please visit www.karunamayi.org for details and information about AMMA.

The CD has been made as a 2 volume audio CD (Aanandalahari & Soundaryalahari) as well as MP3 CD for those who want to have the option of either or both.  The suggested minimum donation for either the CDs or the MP3 CD is $20.00 that is also tax deductible. Checks can be made payable to "SRIM Center".  My heartfelt appreciation to those that will be supporting my efforts and many thanks in advance.  Please also feel free to forward this information to those that you know who will be interested.

Please let me know if you are interested in getting the CDs or MP3 CD.  My contact information is below:

This year of 2007, shortly after Sri Karunamayi's visit to her devotees in America, a new SRIM Center Board of Directors was organized.  Many of these outstanding individuals are very active in the Georgia Hindu Community and you may know them.

At this time we would like to present to you the current Board of Directors of the SRIM Meditation and Research Center.  In future additions to the SRIM Center website, we will introduce these very fine people to you in a more comprehensive way.

Kishore Ramachandran: President

Shiv Aggarwal:               Vice-President

Hyma Mikkilineni :         Treasurer

Jayasree Moparthy:        Co-treasurer

Vidya Patel:                  Secretary

Janardana Dasa:            Co-secretary

Ram Dronavalli:              Member-at-large with voting rights

Please greet these Sisters and Brothers in our family of Sri Karunamayi devotees and offer your congratulations.  Also feel free to discuss ideas and concerns you have about the SRIM Center with them.

Board Meetings are open to all interested parties.  Until the Board "hits its stride", meetings have been held on an ad hoc basis so keep your eyes and ears open.  Also you have a good chance of attending a board meeting if you attend the monthly satsang at the SRIM Center.

Satsang takes place on the second Saturday of each month.  The Meditation Hall opens at 10:30 a.m. and satsang begins at 11:00 a.m.
