Amma Sri Karunamayi requested Her Atlanta Satsang to prepare an Ashram for Her, and with Her Grace, that process is now well underway.

The Mission Statement is being prepared, and will include Her directives which She will make clear when She visits Atlanta for the SRIM Meditation Center Inauguration, May 8th, 2007.

For the purposes of communicating to Amma's devotees, this brief Mission Statement is posted. It will be enlarged and refined as time goes on.

Amma indicated that She wants the Ashram to be a center for advancing the spiritual teaching of meditation. Amma regularly holds Meditation Retreats during Her national tours, but once the SRIM Meditation Center is operational, She will be able to teach more extended retreats here in the US as She does in Her home Ashram in Penusila, Andhra Pradesh, India. Many devotees here in the US are not able to travel to India, and having a center here will allow more people to receive in-depth and advanced training.

Amma has also indicated that the Ashram will have a Sri Chakra Temple. This temple will generate harmonious spiritual vibrations that affect the entire environment in this area of the country, blessing the elements as well as all forms of life with Sri Devi's uplifting Grace.

During Her visits to the US, Amma will also be able to initiate and supervise new projects, using the Ashram as Her base. She has mentioned plans for writing new books, in this regard.

The SRIM Meditation Center, in effect will serve and support Amma's Divine Mission in every way possible.

In summary, Amma's Mission seeks to address both the physical and spiritual suffering of Humanity, and She includes all beings, all creatures of nature, the Earth, Heavenly Bodies, and the subtle Elements in Her Divine Vision of Universal Peace and Enlightenment.

To this effect, Amma has built Her Ashram in India, where She operates charitable organizations including the Sri Karunamayi Free Hospital and the Sri Karunamayi Free School, among others. She also makes an annual Tour of the US, Europe and occasionally other countries. On Her Tour, Amma touches the hearts and souls of thousands of people of every Faith. She displays Her unconditional love for everyone through Individual Blessings and by teaching the spiritual values and esoteric traditions of Sanatana Dharma and Sri Vidya.

As Amma's Mission grows, the SRIM Meditation Center will be a vital, year-round resource for Amma's devotees. We urge you to participate at this critical time of formation, and help build Amma's US Ashram. Your skills, talents, time, interest, and generous contributions are essential at this point.

The SRIM Meditation Center requires a nationally active membership to construct the many buildings, and conduct the many programs that will fulfill its Mission.
