May 2024 Events:

Rudrabhishekam

Mondays & Thursdays – May 2, 6, 9, 13, 16, 20, 23, 27, 30 @ 6:30 PM

The Sri Rudram chanted to extoll Eshwara is, in fact, the essence of the four vedas. Rudram reminds us of the oneness in the creation and the chanting of Rudram creates a mountain of safety. Amma has emphasized that Rudram chanting instantly purifies and eliminates all fears granting health and happiness. Mondays are dedicated to worshiping Lord Shiva to gain his grace and protection in removing our inner enemies, progressing on the spiritual path, and uplifting plants, animals and mankind.  Kanth Swami will conduct a Rudrabhishekam to the special Pancha Mukha Jade Shiva lingam on Mondays and to the Utsava (small) murti of Shirdi Sai Baba on Thursdays.

Akshaya Trithiya

Friday, May 10 at 6:30 PM

Akshaya in Sanskrit means imperishable or eternal and this auspicious day stands as a symbol for abundance and prosperity. It marks several historic events like the birth of Lord Parashurama, when the Ganges flowed onto earth, and Sudama blessing by Lord Krishna, Draupadi’s blessing with the akshaya patra. It also denotes a time when the sun and moon are at the peak of their brilliance, which in-turn activates the ida and pingala nadis in the human body enabling the potential to excel. Thus, Akshaya Tritiya is considered auspicious for new beginnings. Traditionally, Goddess Lakshmi is worshiped on this day in gratitude for the abundance in life – both spiritual and material. Kanth Garu will perform a Sri Maha Lakshmi Pooja at 6:30 PM.

Purnima Full Moon Pooja and Thursday Abhishekam

Thursday, May 23rd at 10:30 AM and 6:00 PM

‘Chandarama manaso jaataha’ in the Vedas means ‘out of the mind of Godhead the moon was born’. The waxing and the waning of the moon has a direct effect on human minds. The full brilliance of the moon on pournami days enables the mind to flourish at its maximum potential. Worshiping the Divine Mother on this day enables humans to harness this mind power to attain fulfillment in both material and spiritual aspirations in life. Kanth Garu will perform Sri Chakra abhishekam and the Baba Utsava Murthi abhishekam at 10: 30 AM. The evening program at 6 PM includes Lalitha Sahasranama, Trisathi and Khadgamala pooja.

Sponsorship: $27 for morning & $27 for evening
